All events sponsored by "Studio YOU" feature cosplay.
You can cosplay and take photographs after passing the standard routine.
However, don’t forget the check-in before joining the cosplay.
Depending on the event, the check-in might be for free or there might be extra charge.

Cosplay case: “free system (no registration)
In case of the “free system”, You may go to the locker room directly after entering the hall on the convention’s day. Registration is not necessary.

■ One-point ■

The locker room’s location is listed in the booklet’s hall’s guide chart.
However, depending on the hall, the locker room’s location might not be noted on the map - in this case please ask the event’s staff for advice.

The registration fee of each event is divided.

■ Enjoying the convention ■

In the case of changing clothes, please use the specified locker room.

Please note that the rules differ from usual ‘cosplay only’ events so that visitors, which came to buy doujins from the circles, can also enjoy the convention.
Remember that "Studio YOU" is partially a doujin-magazine sale spot association.

Taking pictures

■ Main rule ■
Please receive a "picture permit" for taking pictures.
Obtain this at the “permission certificate place” before you take any pictures.

Please enjoy photo shooting within the specified time and cosplay zone. However, receiving the issue of "picture permit" is first priority. It is necessary to have this certification before taking any pictures.
Please always have the "picture permit" sticker patched on your camera.
Please receive a permit sticker for each camera you are using.
We hope the actions take place according to the staff's instruction. Unfortunately, those who violate against our rules might be asked to leave the hall or to deposit the camera at the hall’s entrance.? Small details of this rule might differ depending on the hall, so please check the day’s booklet for details.

■ Movie camera material ■
  • ・?Permitted: usage of camera lenses between 24-135mm only. Video shooting is strictly forbidden.
  • ・?Please receive a “picture permit” if you are planning to take any pictures by camera or cellphone/digital camera.
  • ・ Please acknowledge the need of some official ID card ( driver’s license, passport, insurance proof, student's ID card, etc.*) to get some permission certificate.
  • ・?Only still pictures are permitted.
  • ・?Please acknowledge that taking animated pictures is forbidden.
■ How to take pictures ■
  • ・?Please take pictures only after the individual person’s permission.
  • ・?Please consider to hinder neither circle’s sales nor the visitors.
  • ・? Please take pictures at the cosplay zone only. When taking pictures, please try to aim at the wall. You must not take any pictures of the circle’s artists.
  • ・? Please ask for the model’s permission to take their picture.
    (* If you don’t follow these instructions, our staff will have to take suited measures.)

Attention and asking

Major premise
We hope for actions with common sense, according to the staff's instruction. Anyone who doesn’t follow the rules of “Attention and asking” , will be asked to cancel the cosplay and to leave the hall. Depending on the hall, some details might change. Please check the event-day’s booklet for those details.
About cosplaying outdoors
At conventions sponsored by studio YOU, cosplay outdoors (outside the event hall) is forbidden ? However, in special cases such as "Tokyo Big sight: outdoor exhibition space", everyone will be informed about the outdoor cosplay grounds in the booklet. Studio YOU can’t give any warranty for accidents that might happen outside of the hall. Be earnestly careful after acknowledging this beforehand.
■ Change of clothes ■
  • ・?For a change of clothes, only the locker room should be used.
  • ・?Changing clothes outside the event hall, in the rest room, on the passage or near the circle space is forbidden.
  • ・?Please retain the locker room clean and tidy. Leaving back luggage and garbage, etc. is forbidden.
■ Valuables and luggage ■

If you have any valuables, please carry them with you. Please manage your luggage by yourself, since we cannot assume the responsibility even if an item gets lost. However, since "Comic Live autumn special 2004", pay cloakrooms have been installed in Kobe! Since September 26 our cooperation partner Yamato Transport offers this cloakroom service for 500 yen (with insurance). If the cloakroom service has already been paid, it is no problem to take out and return the item. No extra costs will be incurred.?

■ Arms?! ■
  • ・?Arms such as the model guns and air guns are not allowed to be brought in.
  • ・?The length of items such as swords must be within 1m and made of some material that can´t harm anyone. In addition, the drawing of any weapon is forbidden.
■ Costume ■

Please avoid wearing costumes with too much exposure, real service uniforms, and costumes of civil servants etc. As for males, if possible please avoid disguising yourself as a woman..

■ Trouble prevention ■

Chatting and taking pictures near the gateway and main passage might hinder other visitors, so please don’t stand there. Also, please don’t block the space in front of the circle’s tables.

When acting as cosplay model, please check the photographers “picture permit”.

Q & A

■ Do I have to note every picture I take? ■

You may take pictures only with the model’s permission.
Please consider to hinder neither circle’s sales nor the visitors when taking a picture.
You may take pictures at the cosplay zone only.
When taking pictures, please try to aim at the wall.
You must not take any pictures of the circle’s artists.

■ I brought my digital camera but the staff rejected it! ■

Since only still pictures are allowed, digital cameras are a difficult case. Most of them have a video function. In case of wanting to use a digital camera, an ID proof is necessary. (Your ID card with your picture is required.) And even then, you are only allowed to take still pictures with that camera.
Take still pictures only! Movie clips or animated picture material are strictly forbidden. Please note that taking animated picture material (like video shooting etc.) is a blanket ban. Any person using a digital camera that can also take movie clips, is permitted for taking still pictures only.

■ May I take pictures by cellphone camera? ■

It is possible to use the cellphone under the same premises as any other digital camera. You may only take still pictures! Please receive the according permit of the cosplay registry hall, paste it on the camera / phone, and - take pictures. The permit is necessary on each used camera / phone. An ID card (driver’s license, passport, insurance proof, student's ID card, etc.) is necessary for issuing the permit (* It’s not possible to copy it).
Please remember that animated picture material is a blanket ban.

■ Can’t I take any pictures without carrying a photo permit?
Moreover, where can I get such a permit? ■

It is absolutely necessary to obtain a picture license for every camera you are using. Please get it from the staff at the picture stand inside the hall. Taking pictures without having a picture license is forbidden. The lens size should be between 24mm and 135mm. Furthermore only still pictures are permitted. Please attach the "picture permit" sticker clearly visible on your chest or on each camera.

■ Which cameras am I allowed to take pictures with? ■

Permitted camera lens size: between 24-135mm.
Taking picture material or clips by video camera is not allowed.

■ I’m a cosplayer, where can I store my luggage? ■

Storing luggage in the locker room is forbidden.
Unfortunately You have to carry your luggage with you.

■ I’m a cosplayer, can’t I bring any long items in? ■

The length of an item brought into the hall must be within 1 meter.
In addition, the drawing of any weapon (e.g. a sword) is forbidden. Also all items must be made of some (soft) material, that cannot harm any person. ( i.e. paper, cloth, balsa, styrene foam) Please try to carry your item so that it does not hinder other visitors.

■ So what is “Free Cosplay” ? ■

In general, all convention participants who bought the booklet are free to enjoy cosplay.? To get dressed up, locker rooms will be prepared ? so please feel free to use them.
However, aside from the booklet fee, an additional cosplay charge (including the locker room fee) is partially needed in certain halls.

・Kokura

We also must ask for a cosplay registration fee in three districts, namely:

"Makuhari", "Kobe", and "Sendai". Please remember this when participating.

Aside from the booklet fee, an additional cosplay charge (including the locker room fee) is required in the above-mentioned districts.
